The Bible and Science – Potential to Kinetic

Our Energy Source

Our Energy Source

Psalm 55:6 So I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.(NIV)

Potential and kinetic energy can and do transfer to each other. Potential energy is added to something by moving it to a higher position to convert it back move to a lower position. In a perfect world P.E. = K. E. but things get in the way and cause friction. So energy has to be added in order to keep things working.

We are not special, we follow the same pattern when we do things in the kingdom. We know we have the potential so we start to work but as we do our work that energy is used up in accomplishing the task and/or some is wasted. Time with Jesus (in that Heavenly Realm) is needed to restore you to full energy.

Jesus, thank You for recharging my energy as I rest in You.

P.S. For you truly science people I “stretched it” with my verse.

The cross picture was taken in Joplin, Mo. to see the poem I wrote, Hope in Joplin.

The Bible and Science – Kinetic Energy

Genesis 22:2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. (NIV)

Kinetic energy is known as the energy of movement; its formula is K.E. = ½mv2. The potential_kineticimportant thing is the velocity (speed); even something small can have a lot of energy if it is moving. If you look at the formula the speed you move with doesn’t just double it increases exponentially so 7 does not become 14 it becomes 49.

I am sure that Abraham had a lot of thoughts that night but what did he do; he started moving!

∞Jesus, thank You that You increase our energy as we move to the sound of Your voice.
