I am a follower of Jesus, a husband, a father, a science teacher who believes in Creation, a helper, a writer.
I like: spending time with my wife, finding God’s fingerprints on things, chocolate, coffee, a job that is well done, the beach.
I fix things, grow plants, pick-up pennies, am still trying to find the “box” to know if I am outside of it yet.
your site, that i happened to stumble upon, reminds me of: prophets, wisemen and scribes scripture… So gifted!
Thank you, Val, for your kind words. I rejoice that the Holy Spirit is using my “strengths” to help and encourage the saints.
Thank you for the study on the number 14! Very helpful. I’ll return to your site, Mark. Pastor Urie Hershberger
Pastor Urie, you are welcome. Come back anytime.

Mystery
Joseph had two sons Genesis 41:51-52 that somehow lived with Jacob Genesis 46:27. Jacob knew Joseph to be dead around 17y/o but Jacob knew Ephraim and Manasse where Joseph’s sons?
Second note: You’re a science teacher who believes in Creation. Do you believe the earth is flat?
Brother Gee, I am not sure why you are mystified or what translation of the Bible you use? The narration is counting the total of Jacob’s descendants. If it is the phrase “went into Egypt”, I will use the metaphorical idea that Ephraim and Manasseh did cross into Egypt in the loins of their father Joseph when he was sold as a slave.
Second note:
Mr. Sus – Yes, I believe God created the world as it says in Genesis. No, I do not adhere to a flat earth. I have been high enough in an airplane to see the curve in the horizon. Like Christoper Columbus, I have sat at sea level and watched a large ship sail into port; I saw the top part of the ship first and as it moved to shore the waterline slowly appeared.
hi mark…would you say Abram is saying “show me a sign” in genesis 15:8…thx -carlton
Yes, he probably did that. This was another step in Abram knowing this God that had spoken to him and led him from his family and country. Follow Abram’s faith journey to see how he changed and grew in knowing the Lord.
I appreciate this blog a lot. Too much presumption and overhead in a lot of sermons these days. I appreciate the fact that this blog is very accessible and down to earth.
Are you still active on this? Or have any other works?
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I try to post several new studies every month.
This has been edited.
Mark! Hopefully you get this comment. Truly this day has been ANOTHER day of wonders! My Beloved Master gets to me one way or the other to correct or to praise but mainly to give life to the Scriptures that were once dead letters in the pages of many Bibles I had possesed.
I have been writing since I was a child but it was not until 1985 when Yahushua stepped into my life to beging the transformation that is now complete to begin afresh, anew. Nothing from my old life from here on. HE has recreated me to be His witness.
But I am writing to you because my Master sent me to search for the biblical meaning of number 18 because I was not satisfied with the idea of this 18th day of February menaing a day of bondage.
WOW! HE had in mind to find more than the best realistic and alive description of the number 18.
Hope to hear from you. His love in my heart for you and all, thiaBasilia.
I did contact you.

I praise the Lord for these wonderful people, I was saved some years ago but I’m still under construction, as we all should be, the Lord always has things for us if only we are receptive to Him, my prayers are with you.
What is your background, how did you become saved?
I grew up in a denominational church. God was important but not that important. My mother became ill and died, this left me crushed. My brother asked me to go to a small home fellowship and God touched me that night. That was over 30 years ago and I have been doing my best to follow Jesus ever since.
Thanks for your comment on my blog. I appreciate your desire to take a stand for the Creator-God, especially as you are a science teacher! May the Lord use your blogs to His glory.
